A Message from Joe, Founder of Octa Ride
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended BikeFest 2025 and supported this event. It was our first large-scale event of this kind, and while we are delighted with its success, we acknowledge there are areas for improvement.
Regarding facilities, there were five toilets in total. However, due to 45mph winds the night before, some signage indicating their locations was lost, which may have led to the impression that only three portable toilets were available. The food and bar services were managed entirely by the venue and landowner, the Coach House Hotel. Although we communicated attendance figures of around 1,000 attendees in advance, the menu options were somewhat disappointing despite previous discussions. We understand technical issues may have caused some delays, and these were addressed as promptly as possible. Looking ahead to 2026, we plan to have multiple food vendors offering a variety of options—even if it means sourcing a different venue. We will also ensure clearer signage and increase toilet facilities to improve the attendee experience.
As for our exhibitors, we are very proud of the diverse lineup. From the start, we have maintained full transparency by listing all exhibitors on our Facebook event, Skiddle, and our website. Attendees and ticket buyers had access to this information well in advance, including details about exhibitors and entertainment. Unlike other events, transparency is a priority for us, and we’re proud to have featured brands like Ducati, Dainese, Yamaha, BMW Motorrad, GB Racing, and many more.
Concerning ticket pricing, it was calculated based on expected attendance of 1,000 people, the offerings, and the costs involved in running the event. While some suggested the tickets should be priced at £5, doing so would have resulted in a financial loss and could have jeopardized the continuity of BikeFest in future years. There are significant costs involved in organizing these events—medical services, security, fencing, generators, stage setup, staffing, insurance, and more. Although we aim to keep the event accessible, these expenses are essential to ensure safety and quality.
We hope to receive the same level of support from everyone in 2026 and look forward to welcoming you all to BikeFest 2026!
Thank you once again for your incredible support.
